
New London, NH, October 5-6: The Center for the Arts (CFA) is partnering with Singer/Songwriter Tom Pirozzoli to present an immersive songwriting workshop. This workshop, facilitated by Pirozzoli, will help songwriters capture the successful formulas musicians have used for years and apply it to their music. The event will be held on October 5-6 at 428 Main Street, New London, NH, and is open to 12 participants, with a minimum of 6 to run. The Weekend Workshop is $85 for CFA members and $95 for nonmembers. Cost covers both sessions.

Saturday, October 5 – Session 1:
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Song Structure and Sound
Explore the essential components of a song, including Intro, Verses, Chorus, Bridge, Refrain, Coda, and Outro.
Understand the role of groove, tempo, and genre selection in shaping your song.
Learn techniques for writing lyrics that fit various meters and time signatures.
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch Break
Local dining options will be provided.
1:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Chords and Arranging
Dive into simple and complex chord progressions.
Guitar and piano voicing for chords using the 3rd and 5th in the Bass.
Discover how to change chords and keys to evoke different moods and enhance your songwriting.
Learn to create a compelling song arrangement that resonates with audiences.
Sunday, October 6 – Session 2:
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Suggestion Forum
Share your work with fellow participants and receive suggestions for creating stronger songs.
This hands-on workshop is designed for songwriters seeking to elevate their craft through practical techniques and peer feedback.
