A community is more than the places we live. It’s the stories we tell, the things we notice, the ideas we share, and the ways we see one another.​
Art gives those things a voice.

A painting can capture a feeling words can't quite reach. A photograph can make us notice something we've passed a hundred times. A sculpture can change the way a space feels. A handmade object can carry a story.

Art helps us pay attention, remember, imagine, and see the world through someone else's eyes.
​
And creativity doesn't have to begin in a studio.
​
A paintbrush. A camera. A lump of clay. A pencil. A piece of fabric. A wall. A scrap of paper. An idea scribbled on a napkin.

Creativity can start anywhere.

You don't need a degree or years of experience. You don't even have to think of yourself as an artist. Creating gives us a way to explore who we are, make sense of what we experience, and share something of ourselves with others.

And the artists who create in our communities give us even more ways to see, question, connect, and understand the places we call home.

At the Center for the Arts, we believe there should always be room for both: artists who need a place to share their work, and people who are ready to discover their own creativity.

We create opportunities for artists to be seen, supported, discovered, and connected—and opportunities for our community to encounter art, meet artists, try something new, and find a creative spark of their own.

Art doesn't just decorate a community. It gives us new ways to see it, understand it, and imagine what it can become.
CFA GALLERY
A Place to Look Closer.
The CFA Gallery exists to give artists a place to share their work—and our community a place to experience art as part of everyday life.​
Open to the public, the gallery offers a welcoming place to stop in, slow down, look around, have a conversation, or simply spend a few quiet moments with art. No ticket, no special occasion, no expertise required. Just come in and look.
​
For artists, the gallery provides opportunities to exhibit work through juried and themed exhibitions, connect with new audiences, and become part of the creative life of the region. For the community, each exhibition brings new voices, ideas, perspectives, and ways of seeing into a shared space.

The exhibitions change. The invitation stays the same: come see something new.

CFA Microgalleries bring original artwork into the places our community already visits—cafés, inns, businesses, healthcare settings, and other shared spaces—turning an ordinary stop into an opportunity to pause, look, and discover something new.

A painting might catch your eye over coffee. A photograph might make you stop in a hallway. An artwork might spark a conversation while you're waiting for an appointment or exploring somewhere new.

These unexpected encounters matter.

Microgalleries give artists another way to share their work and reach audiences beyond a traditional gallery, while making art more visible and accessible to people who might not otherwise seek it out.
