Each Studio has its own unique charm and artists will have different ways of presenting their work. One example is artist Jean Twombly, who will be giving a demonstration of copper foiling during the open studios event, explaining the difference between making stained glass and mosaic glass panels. Her studio−Soleil Studio Arts−is a partnership between Twombly and her husband, Peter Tourin. Tourin is a grant winner from the National Endowment for the Arts for his research in historical string instruments, and his work focuses on wood marquetry and fine woodworking. Several of his items will be for sale during Open Studios.
This event will give participants exclusive access to visual artists living and working in the Lake Sunapee Region, broadening the public’s exposure and appreciation of art and the art making process. Visit www.centerfortheartsnh.org/openstudios for more information and to view the map of artists’ studios.
