Painter

Hugo Anderson, born in 1946 in Chicago, IL, currently resides and operates in New London, NH, while pursuing a career as a painter with a substantial portfolio of solo and group exhibitions. Additionally, Mr. Anderson is distinguished as a gallery owner and director. His professional initiatives include hosting seminars on pertinent topics such as "How to Make a Living as an Artist" and "How to Start an Art Gallery" in Denver, CO from 1996-2006, and "How to Survive" at Adams State College, Alamosa, CO in 2005. Mr. Anderson has been honored with prestigious awards, namely the 1989-90 Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Fellowship and the 1991 50th Annual Painting Award from the Cheltenham Center for the Arts, Cheltenham, PA. Furthermore, he dedicated time to serving as a Peace Corps volunteer at Magburaka Secondary School for Boys in Magburaka, Sierra Leone, from 1968 to 1970.
