New London, NH: Join the Center for the Arts and spoon maker, reader, and flutist, Dan Dustin for an evening of exploration into the universal forces that shape us as artists during CFA’s HuManities Mondays. As he leads this fascinating program, Dan will delight attendees with a series of readings and music, drawing from his extensive experience in blending humor with profound thoughts about the creative process. He will also share some of his most recent musings centered around the works of Herman Melville, Thomas Mann, D.H. Lawrence, and J.S. Bach.
As a third-generation schoolteacher and a fifty-year veteran of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, Dan Dustin has taught spoon making since 1972. This includes two residencies at New England College, three residencies at the Holderness School, eight years at NHTI, and numerous workshops at NH elementary schools. His spoons are in the permanent collection of the Hopkinton (NH) Historical Society and the Peabody Essex Museum. Additionally, private teaching of the flute has been a part of his daily schedule since 1965.
This HuManities Mondays event will be held on July 21, 2025 at 428 Main Street, New London, NH 03257. Whether you’re a lover of literature or moved by music don’t miss this celebration of creative exploration.
