CFA HuManities Monday program is thrilled to offer this special event showcasing the powerful photographic exhibit on Alzheimer's/Dementia by Susan Sidebottom. Susan will be joined by panelists from Dartmouth Health, NAMI, and Colby-Sawyer to discuss the impacts of art and navigating this pervasive diagnosis.

Susan Sidebottom
Susan Sidebottom (American, 1968) is a visual storyteller whose socially engaged practice is rooted in photography and driven by empathy, seeking a deeper understanding of the relationship between people and their circumstances. She investigates themes of structural inequalities and human resilience, with community engagement a cornerstone of her work.
She has exhibited nationwide at The Levine Museum of the New South with The Light Factory, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Art Center Sarasota, and the School of the Art Institute Chicago. Her work has been featured in LensCulture, NPR, Bloomberg Businessweek, among others.
She holds BA degrees in journalism and speech communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2024, she earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute Chicago, where she was granted the Visionary Merit Scholarship and upon graduation, was awarded the Jamie Tuttle Fellowship for “As If Nothing Is Wrong.”
Panelists

Kenneth Dolkart, MD
Dr. Dolkart, board-certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Geriatric Medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to DHMC, Dr. Dolkart spent over 20 years leading the Department of Medicine at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua as Chairman where he was also Co-Chairman of the Ethics Committee. In 2004 he founded the Nashua Center for Healthy Aging, which incorporates podiatry care and physical therapy into traditional geriatric practice. Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Dolkart is actively engaged in both didactic and clinical teaching, facilitating many small groups and presenting lectures on Geriatrics and the Medical Home at the student, resident and postgraduate levels. He has been a long standing champion for falls prevention in New Hampshire and has participated at the State level engaging a cadre of interdisciplinary providers in the prevention of falls in older adults.

Julie Nicknair-Keon, LCMHC, NCC
Julie has entered her fourth year as Director of Baird Health and Counseling Center at Colby -Sawyer College and manages a small private practice. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She has 30+ years of counseling experience in a variety of settings. Julie has presented on a variety of mental health related topics including holistic health care approaches, mindfulness, stress and anxiety management, grief, and being a supportive caregiver. Julie believes in embracing one’s humanness with kindness and humor. She volunteers for the Granite State Critical Incident Response Team providing support to law enforcement, first responders, and health care providers. In addition to spending time with friends, family, and pets, Julie enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, biking, boating, skiing (the downhill kind), snowshoeing etc.; reading, listening to music, watching TV, and eating good food.

Meredith Kolodze, DSW, LICSW
A dedicated Social Worker with over 15 years of experience in the field. Meredith has devoted her career to making a positive impact on the lives of older adults. As a Program Manager at NAMI NH, she specializes in providing essential training, education, and support to older adults and their families, focusing on mental health awareness and care.
