Laugh out Loud and Relish in Shared Experiences

ree

New London, NH: New London, NH – The Center for the Arts Lake Sunapee Region is proud to present 79’ and Holding, a witty and heartwarming play by Mary S. Allen, on Monday, September 15 at 6:30 PM at Whipple Hall in New London. This free community event, edited and directed by Gloria Allen, promises laughter, reflection, and recognition as audiences see themselves or their loved ones in each vignette.

With humor, nostalgia, and unflinching honesty, 79’ and Holding takes a colorful look at the lives of senior citizens—exploring joy, love, fear, heartache, and the inevitable awareness of mortality. Rather than dwell, Allen leans into levity, poking fun at herself and inviting audiences to laugh out loud at life’s shared experiences.

The cast of this staged reading includes Gloria Allen, Wally Borgen, Margo Coolidge, and Linda Lambert, who bring to life stories that will resonate across generations. Whether you see yourself, your parents, or your grandparents reflected on stage, the performance offers an evening of connection and celebration.

The performance is appropriate for all audiences and is free and open to the public.
