Artist, Painter, Photography

Juliana lives in New Hampshire with their partner, Andy, their cat Marco and their dog Tupelo. They love being outside in nature and enjoy many outdoor activities, including hiking, skiing, mountain biking, paddle-boarding and snowshoeing.
In the fall of 2019, while on vacation on Block Island, their dear friend from childhood sat them down and said, 'today we're going to paint'. Juliana had not picked up a paint brush since 6th grade art class. Since that day on Block Island, They have created hundreds of paintings with various mediums, including watercolor, acrylic and gouache. Watercolor is their favorite. They love the way the paints flow around the paper like a boat on a river. They enjoy photography, as well, and especially like to capture light. David Hockney's watercolor style inspires them, as does Winslow Homer's art. Juliana loves to paint with watercolors 'en plein air', though they wish to note that painting while sailing, sitting on a dock or being in the wind with variable temperature, light and vantage point creates a delightful but formidable challenge!
Their paintings and photographs have been juried into the Naturally New England Art Show in Sunapee, NH for the past 5 years. Their artworks chosen to hang for the show are as follows: “Presidential Range”, (2021); “Thanksgiving Bouquet” and “Kilkenny Range” (2022); “Gold Dust” and “Petunias in Patina” (2023); “Henniker Daffodils” (sold at show), “Cabin In The Whites” (sold at show) and “Sunset on Block Island Sound” (2024); “To Everything”, “Gratitude”, and “Soul Mates” (2025). Their watercolor “Spring Has Sprung!” was selected to hang for the Center for the Arts Spring Show in New London, NH in 2025.
They paint for Nexthome Modern Reality in New Hampshire as a contracted artist, capturing the beauty and charm of New England residences in watercolor paintings to be enjoyed by sellers and buyers alike.
Juliana has a Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology, and has practiced as a Licensed Psychologist in New Hampshire for 25 years. The meditative experience of painting has sustained them, particularly during the difficult days of being a clinician during the pandemic. Juliana cherishes the peace of being enveloped in the moment. Their loved ones comment that they are never as quiet and still as they are when they paint. Juliana's self proclaimed therapy is nature- snow, light, stars, wind and trees, and their joy is painting the gifts nature gives us..
