New London, NH – This July the Center for the Arts (CFA) invites you to beat the heat and dive into the joy of hands-on artmaking. With exciting workshops that span painting, collage, stained glass, and more, there is something for everyone—whether you are looking to learn a new skill, create a personal masterpiece, or simply enjoy an evening of creative expression. Come explore your artistic side in a warm, welcoming environment led by talented local instructors.
Some of Our Upcoming July Classes:
Painting Terra Cotta Planters with Christine Donovan
July 9, 6–8:30pm
Decorate two terracotta pots with pottery glazes and be fascinated by the results once your pots have been fired in the kiln.
Glass Mosaic Garden Ornaments with Jean Twombly
SERIES Tuesdays & Thursdays from July 15–August 7, 5:30–8:30pm
Be a part of a four week series and learn the techniques and materials for substrates, glue and grout, and learn a bit about mosaic history in this hands-on class.
Creating with Collage with Nick Paradis
July 21, 10am–1pm
Experiment with this iconic medium: paper and glue! A brief history and composition layout will be demonstrated in addition to plenty of creation time.
"The Blues" Bowl Glaze with Christine Donovan
July 23, 6–8:30pm
Paint a 9” stoneware mixing bowl using a dark flux and 'lots of blues' pattern that will be both beautiful and functional —dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe.
Oil Painting for Beginners with Zoe Parys
July 26, 12–4pm
Be thoughtfully guided through the process of creating a landscape or still life with a limited color palette and water-mixable oil paints.
