New London, NH— Center for the Arts Invites Creative Young Voices
Are you ready to share your story with the world? The Center for the Arts proudly presents the 6th Annual Teen Writers Contest, a celebration of creative expression for young writers across our region. Whether your passion is poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction, this is your chance to have your unique voice heard and recognized. We believe in the power of words and the imagination of youth—and this year, we invite every teen in our region to step into the spotlight, showcase your talent, and join a vibrant community of artists. Submit your work and let your creativity shine!
We are pleased to announce that Tom Coverdale will serve as the judge for the 2025 Teen Writers Contest. Mr. Coverdale recently retired after a distinguished 37-year career teaching Advanced Placement literature and composition at the high school level. His experience also includes instruction in theater, speech, fiction and non-fiction writing, two decades of advising and publishing Fine Arts journals, and directing theatrical productions.
To be eligible, you must be 12-18 years of age and live in or attend school in Andover, Bradford, Danbury, Grantham, New London, Newbury, Newport, Springfield, Sunapee, Sutton, Warner, or Wilmot. Writing categories include short fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. Winners in each category will have the opportunity to present their works in front of family, their peers, and the community during an awards ceremony in January and be published in CFAs Teen Writers Project journal. Participants may submit entries in multiple categories.
