Izzy Senja Dot

Painter

Izzy Senja Dot is an American Painter and Tech Folk artist raised in the Lake Sunapee region.  She combines stylized folk symbols and imagery with modern color palettes - like lipstick stains and fruit dyes, like chalky dust and guilded mirrors.  Her collections - Isabella Peasant, Circa Chalk Senja, Dot's Granddaughter, The Loft Silica Preserves and Fulgere House are a blending of stylized folk imagery, fashion, self portraits and objects within a modern domestic sphere.  She maintained 13 blogs showcasing pieces like The Bronze Meringue Storehouse as featured on Instagram.  A winter was spent during Covid creating 12 inch textile hearts from vintage fabrics and objects now featured on Instagram as a  l o v e piece,  while watching a vintage Cyndi Lauper concert in Paris.  Her 12 panel tech column pieces are glossy modern "jewels" for the wall.  They are complex visual pieces as if combining disparate colors and textures in a fashion outfit.  She is interested in preserving these snapshots in time as the internet, artificial intelligence and the digital art world continue to shift, engage and entertain the art viewer.  Think grown up fashion plates.  The jewel like glossy columns are currently showing on Instagram.  Her work has included painting, textile work and digital works.  She has sold in NYC, venues in New England and has been approached by The American Folk Art Museum Shop in NYC, World of Crete in Greece, The Tokyo International Art Fair and private collectors.  In 2012 her Isabella Peasant Painting Collection was featured at New London Hospital NL in a group show - it was a sold out show.  Locally she has shown at Artisans Workshop in New London NH, The Mountain Edge Resort in Newbury NH and at Grounds in New London NH.  She was represented by the former Vessels & Jewels New London NH for many years.  She showed at Real Art Ways Hartford CT, Joseloff Gallery West Hartford CT, Boston Center for the Arts in MA, and Tulips in Portsmouth NH.   Izzy holds a BFA Magna Cum Laude from Hartford Art School in West Hartford CT 1994.  2025 - her Chocolate Rabbit paintings are available through Union House in Hopkinton NH.  Inquiries can be made here through The Center For Arts Sunapee Region NH, Boston Art Inc. & izzysenjadot@outlook.com.

Currently in studio - HAUTE PASTURE a new series of paintings that combine pastoral imagery typically seen in an interior space instead of my field works, abstract scratching and hay like shapes and my continued quirky color palettes.  {color} {color} {color}.  - I. S. D. Summer 2025.
