Take Outstanding Pictures with Larry Harper

(This class will be held at Tracy Memorial Library) 

Take outstanding pictures with the right camera settings, right composition, and right lighting. Learn tricks the pros use. This class offers hands-on learning and practice with your own camera.

You must bring your camera - preferably a DSLR, or a point and shoot.  Please also bring your camera manual or a PDF equivalent.

​Social Dances at Whipple Hall! 
Every 3rd Saturday of the Month
Dance lesson: 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Social dance: 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm 


Have you ever watched those television dance competitions and thought, "I'd like to try that?" Have you participated in our ballroom dance workshops and are looking to put the skills you've learned to the test? Center for the Arts and instructors from the Newport Ballroom have the answers for you! Come to our monthly social dances at Whipple Hall the 3rd Saturday of every month and enjoy an evening of music, socializing and DANCE! All levels of experience welcome!

Dance lessons will be available from 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm followed by social dance. $10 includes lesson and entry to the dance. Please bring a dish to share!

​​​Tango for Beginners with Natalie Mavor Miles

The Tango evolved as a ballroom dance from the sultry Argentine Tango danced in the bordellos of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It emerged as a highly passionate dance, one that the respectable classes of society shunned. The American style Tango is characterized by a close hold and sharp movements and has a staccato feel. No experience necessary.

Beginner Ballroom Dance Class Series with Natalie Mavor Miles

Introduction to Waltz, Rumba, Foxtrot and Swing! Students will learn the basic steps to the most popular ballroom dances.

What to Wear: Please wear comfortable street clothing. Some form of dance shoe is suggested, such as a Ballroom or Latin dance shoe, character shoe or jazz shoe. If you do not own dance shoes, please bring in a clean pair of shoes for the dance floor.

Painting the Vibrant Fall Colors in Watercolor with Robert O'Brien

Learn to paint the beautiful fall colors with watercolorist Robert J. O’Brien AWS NWS. This two day workshop will focus on painting the spectacular fall landscape of New England and the Northeast in its glorious splendor. The class will begin with a demonstration by the instructor who will explain his technique for capturing the vibrancy of autumn colors through the layering process. Techniques for creating light and shadow will also be shown. Students will paint for the duration of the class followed by a critique at the end of the session. Hands on assistance will be provided by the instructor. This workshop is open to all abilities.
